Apple’s January 2010 Event Dissapointment

Everyone is slightly disappointed about the today’s Apple Event, although, the new Apple tablet confirmed at the conference as the iPad is a work of art, but it’s still a bit disappointing that all of this hype was for one gadget.

We would have loved to hear something about the all new iPhone (4G) or something about its 4.0 operating system, which everyone was speculating about, but nothing.

All this hype for one device. Yes this one device is definitely something we will get but come on Steve Jobs we want an all new iPhone. Maybe one will be announced a little later in the year, and what about Verizon getting their mitts on the iPhone train, or indeed mentioning something about the iPhone AT&T exclusivity (which I was really looking forward to).

We did not even hear anything about the OS 4.0, this this gives us a hint that Apple will hold another event soon, we might be mistaken but come on, they have to reveal an all new iPhone like they have the last few years. Apple has not missed a year since the iPhone 2G model.

Apple’s Jan. 27, 2010 Event Info Leaked?

Apparently, Ryan from UniqueApps has released information (from an unknown source) stating the releases that will be announced tomorrow at Apple’s January 2010 event. Here are the supposed announcements:

  1. New iLife and iWork ‘10
  2. New MacBook Air
  3. iPod Touch with video camera
  4. iPhone open to other carriers
  5. Apple Tablet

Let’s hope Ryan’s sources are correct (I’m hoping on the iPhone being open to new carriers)… Here’s his video that he posted on YouTube:

The iPod Nano has received an update! It now comes in nine different colors, all with a glossy finish, reduced prices ($149 US for 8GB; $179 for 16GB), a new, integrated video camera (capable of taking still images as well as video) with effects, microphone, 2.2 inch screen, FM-Radio with tagging and live pause, Nike+iPod Support, as well as built-in speakers.

Apple Holding “Rock and Roll” Themed Event

Apple has sent out invitations to their “Rock and Roll” event scheduled for September 9. The image above was included int he invitation. Most people would probably recognize the lyrics written on the invite to be a song by the Rolling Stones.

In the past, when Apple hosts this music themed event, they normally announce a new iPod version whether it be a new Shuffle, Nano, or iTouch. Recently, there have been news of resellers having a drop in stock volume for their iPods as well as news that Apple with discontinue all iPod SKUs (stock-keeping unit). Could this mean a fresh new face for the ever so popular iPods? Additionally, there has been reports (as well as pictures) of a new iPod Touch 3G having a camera as well as a microphone. No one knows for sure if this is fact or fiction but the reported pictures did seem believable. With this news, Apple might be releasing yet another iPod Touch (nearly one per year).
