Tethering Support Added to iPad in iOS 4.2 Beta 2

The Beta 2 version of Apple’s iOS 4.2 software update brings a pretty cool new feature. The update for an undisclosed November release, adds Internet Tethering settings for iPads running iOS.

iPad owners will hopefully be able to tether their iDevice successfully by the time iOS 4.2 reaches its final version. According to 9to5Mac, the settings are currently only appearing for European carriers.

If Apple allows iOS 4.2 users to tether their iPad iPhone-style this would be great!

Don’t get too excited. The tethering settings may be removed in a beta version in the feature (remember Game Center on the iPhone 3G? It can happen any time).
