This DCA103 backup battery from Dexim could prove to be a really useful product. I can guarantee that there will be a number of occasions and events when a product like this would be a life saver. It’s fantastic for entertainment purposes and great to be able to keep on talking on your iPhone, Blackberry, or T-Mobile’s G1 Android. It packs a big punch for it’s puny size; 10 hours extended talk time, 20 hours video playback time, or 80 hours of audio playback time. It’s compatible with all iPhone and iPod models excluding the iPod Shuffle.
This is definately not meant for everyone and so it will suit some people much more than others. If you travel a lot or spend a lot of time away from a computer/power supply then this will be for you. However, if you are always near a power supply or don’t go out all that often, you probably won’t need it, although it would nice to have it around the house just for emergencies seeing as how it’s extremely bright flash “torch”, or flash light, can come in handy during emergencies.
Dexim’s BluePack is terrifically well made; the pack includes all you need, from the international AC power adapter, connecting/charging cables, the external battery pack, and even a soft, velvet-like carrying case so that you can keep everything nice an neat all in one place when you’re on the go. The battery is a stand-alone power supply; it doesn’t replace the existing battery, it just acts as an external one. Although designed for Apple products it will also work with any device with a mini USB power input such as my old Verizon Motorola Razr.
This is a well thought out and very well made device which will suit the right user very well. It has a retail price of $69.90 USD, so it is not cheap, but it is a tremendously good value for what you get.
