According to Jeffery Fidacaro, an analysts with Susquehanna Financial Group, several people within Apple’s overseas factories and supply chain report that the company will begin assembling CDMA iPhones in December. We’ve previously heard rumors that a CDMA iPhone will be released in January of 2011. If Apple truly does plan on assembling it’s first batch of CDMA phones in December, it is said that they’ll have produced at least 3 million units by January 1.
Even though this may be exiting news for many people, it should be taken lightly. Earlier this year, before the iPad was announced, Fidacaro projected the device would include a 4200RPM spinning hard drive (which it doesn’t) as well as an Intel Atom mobile processor (again, which it doesn’t).
To make this short and sweet, iH8sn0w, maker of the extremely popular jailbreak too, Sn0wbreeze, has announced a release date for Sn0wbreeze 2.0. It will be released Wednesday September 23, 2010. Here’s the devices it will jailbreak:
iPhone 2G — Works out the box
iPhone 3G — Works out the box
iPhone 3GS (old bootrom) — Requires you to be already jailbroken. (If you are the old bootrom on Spirit or Jailbreakme use Spirit2Pwn on http://repo.woowiz.net)
iPhone 3GS (new bootrom) — Requires you to be on 3.1.2
iPhone 4 (When exploit is released)
iPod Touch 1G — Works out the box
iPod Touch 2G (MB) — Works Out the Box
iPod Touch 2G (MC) — Requires you to be on 3.1.2
iPod Touch 3G — Requires you to be on 3.1.2
iPod Touch 4 — (When exploit is released)
iPad — (When exploit is released)
This new version is said to jailbreak iOS 3.1.x, 4.0, 4.0.1, and 4.1.
A new version of iReb is also said to be released. iREB is a tool for Windows and Mac that will bypass any errors while restoring to a custom IPSW in iTunes.

A third-party Google Voice app has just hit the App Store. GV Connect by Andreas Amann is a native app that is able to interact directly with Google Voice accounts and features.
GV Connect features:
• Place calls using your Google Voice number rather than your mobile number – enter number directly, select a contact from your device’s contacts, or call back any number in your history.
• Send and receive text messages (SMS) from your Google Voice number.
• Listen to voicemails and recorded conversations right on your device (allowing you to pause, rewind, or fast forward to any point within the message) – voicemails will also show the transcription of the message when available.
• Mark messages as starred, attach notes to conversations, block/unblock senders, or delete conversations.
• Easily search in your history by contact, message, or note.
• Messages are stored on your device for offline access.
• Composing notes and text messages can be done in landscape mode.
• Quickly change various Google Voice account settings (call forwarding, do-not-disturb, message notifications, …) directly from within the application.
• Automatic checking for new messages while the application is active.
• Direct access to your device’s contacts without needing to synchronize them with Google
• All communication is done with the Google Voice website directly, no need to hand over your account information to a third-party.
• Full support for fast app switching in iOS4 and high-resolution graphics for retina displays.
GV Connect is available in the App Store now for $2.99.
Does this indicate that the revised App Store approval guidelines have paved the way for Google Voice apps — or even an official one directly from Google — to make their way to the App Store? And, does this mean that Sean Kovacs’ GV Mobile will have a chance to make its way back from getting the axe? We’ll just have to see, but it looks very promising.
As many of you probably know, today Apple released a new firmware for the iPhone and iPod touch, iOS 4.1. If you are currently jailbroken and would like to keep your jailbreak, do not update! There is currently two known ways to jailbreak this firmware, one way would be through redsn0w, another and much more simplistic way, is through an updated version of jailbreakme.com. Right now we’re just waiting on Comex, creator of jailbreakme, to release the jailbreak(s). Here’s the newest post from the iPhone Dev-Team regarding iOS 4.1:
This time of year there are lots of new iPhone owners, and not everybody knows that accepting new iOS updates is the surest way to lose your jailbreak and/or unlock. While those of you who have Cydia or TinyUmbrella backups of your FW hashes will always be able to get back to 4.0.1 if you make this mistake, this doesn’t hold for unlockers. There’s currently no known way to revert your baseband — if you update your baseband you’ll lose the ultrasn0w unlock, possible forever.
Please stay away from this 4.1 release until a safe jailbreak procedure (which also preserves ultrasn0w) is developed and released.
P.S. There are a tiny number of iPhone3G owners who can revert their basebands due to a flaw in very early bootloaders…you will already know if you fit in this category!
Great news, Twitter fans! The official Twitter application, which we’ve known and loved on our iPhone handsets for some time now, has just gone universal. A recent update (version 3.1, which was released today) means iPad owners can now use the app on their 9.7″ iDevices.
And, as you can see from the screenshots below, the familiar app looks markedly different on the iPad. First up, it takes advantage of the iPad’s screen brilliantly. Twitter on the iPad displays your timeline in the center of the screen, adding helpful lists at the side when in landscape mode. By tapping on any tweet, related content will open in the foreground. By sliding panels, you can swiftly navigate through this content.
In addition to this, users can pinch on a tweet to reveal information and further actions. A two finger drag opens up a list of reply options. These new features are simple but very helpful, and we’re sure you’ll really appreciate them.
So, the ultimate question: was Twitter’s universality something worth waiting for? In my opinion, yes, it was. And, let’s not forget this is a free application, so you have no excuse not to download it!

Today, August 25, 2010, Apple announced that they will be holding a music-based media event on September 1, 2010, much like they do every year. Here are some of the products we expect them to announce:
New touch-screen iPod shuffle
New iPod touch with front-facing (and possibly back-facing) camera to allow for use with Face Time over WiFi (to be used with email addresses as opposed to phone numbers), Retina Display, 1Gz processor (with maybe 512MB RAM), and better battery life.
iOS4 for iPad
iTV (revamped Apple TV) with it’s own App Store and might be the size of the iPhone 4 – Price: $99 USD
Sorry, no Verizon iPhone will be announced in September. If there will be one, it will be announced in January (most likely). Again, these are all just rumors so nothing is certain for sure, but these products will be very likely to be announced.

As we all know, Apple decided to come out with their own version of multitasking in iOS4. The problem is that it’s not “true” multitasking. In this tutorial, I will explain how to use Apple’s multitasking bar with Backgrounder. This disables Apple’s multitasking and replaces it with Backgrounder’s multitasking.
This is great for older iDevices with 128MB RAM (iPod touch 1G, iPod touch 2G, iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G) because they don’t support Apple’s multitasking but it will still work perfectly using this method.
Steps:
1. Open Cydia and download Backgrounder 2. Open Backgrounder and go to Global. Make sure “Backgrounder” is checked as ‘Backgrounding Method’ and “Fall Back to Native” is TURNED OFF
3. SSH into the directory: /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app 4. Locate the N72AP.plist (or N82AP.plist) 5. Backup the .plist file. Edit your .plist in any text editing software and add the following key after <dict> and before </dict>:
<key>multitasking</key>
<true/>
6. Copy the newly edited .plist file back to the directory on your iDevice (OR save it if you edited it straight from your SSH client) and REBOOT. 7. Open Cydia and download a package, “Remove Recents”. 8. Respring (or reboot if you don’t know how to respring).
The Mod Stripe iPad Case by CaseCrown is a fantastic low-profile case. It’s faux leather and contrasting nylon stripe add great aesthetic features and all of your ports and buttons are fully accessible, including the SIM card slot (iPad 3G). It’s extremely thin but will still do a great job at protecting the back of the iPad.
The Mod Stripe iPad case by CaseCrown is my favorite low-profile case by far. To start off, they one and only downfall that this case has, is that it will only protect the back of the iPad and a little bit of the sides, but absolutely none of the front. With that said, the Mod Stripe adds only 0.2 cm of thickness to the device and barely any weight. It also allows complete access to all of the buttons (from any angle) and ports as well as the SIM card slot on the 3G iPads (which many cases don’t offer).
The case comes in four different color combinations – Brown/Yellow, Black/White, Black/Silver, and Black/Red. All of the cases are made of faux (false) leather, which seems very durable, along with a nylon stripe that runs down the center of the case which adds a fantastic contrast. To install the case, you simply snap the iPad in and surprisingly, it actually stay on very well, much better than expected.
One feature that I love about the case, is that it allows you to use headphones with it that have larger than normal jacks (the size most headphones – not earbuds – have). This is a very important feature to me because I use my headphones very often and most of the time if I have a case on my iPad, I can use my headphones because the hole for the headphone jack isn’t large enough. This case doesn’t, unfortunately, work with Apple’s iPad dock.
Selling for $36.99, this is a great buy and well worth the money.
