One of the most popular tweaks in the iOS jailbreak community is to change the carrier logo to a custom image. When a user upgrades their device to the newest model it takes time for a jailbreak to be released. Here’s a bit of a workaround to get the custom carrier logos on an iPhone or 3G/LTE model iPad. @uhelios and @Pix3lDemon have released CarrierEditor, an app currently available only on Mac. The application is extremely simple and intuitive and is of course offered for free. Below you will find the download link and included are several carrier logos to choose from.
The steps for completing this process are demonstrated in our video above and should take no more than a couple of minutes.
Microsoft Expression is my personal favorite screen capture program for Windows. It may have an extra step (encoding the recording) but the final product is perfect as you’ll see in the sample recording at the end of the video. The free version is almost as good as the Pro version. The main difference is that you can only record 10 minute segments with the free version whereas with Pro, you can record for an unlimited amount of time; absolutely not worth the $199 price tag.
Encode a wide array of video file formats, stream live from webcams and camcorders or screen capture your PC. Make simple edits to video files and enhance your media with overlays and advertising. Choose encoding settings, choose from a range of player templates and publish rich media experiences
Customize your video to guarantee viewers a rich, pixel-perfect media experience. Expression Encoder allows you to add simple cuts to any clip, titles, pre-roll and post-roll advertising, captions, metadata and more. Capture computer screen activity for training or support needs.
Delivering a web-ready Silverlight experience is easy. Import QuickTime, AVI, MPEG, and other formats into Expression Encoder, leverage the latest quality and speed improvements to the VC-1 codec, choose your favorite Silverlight template, and publish directly to your web server using Expression Encoder Publishing Plug-ins.
It seems this jailbreak has been rendered useless. Whoever was hosting the jailbreak files (Saurik?) has denied access to them. Trying to jailbreak your device using this method will most likely result in an HTTP 403 error.
The original PDF (jailbreak file) was previously hosted at www.ipad2jailbreakpdf.weebly.com, however, it has since been removed. For those of you still wanting to unofficiallyjailbreak your iPad 2 on iOS 4.3, download the PDF below (open it). This is the same PDF that was originally hosted. It is recommended to wait until the official jailbreak is released.
Well, this is the “big” announcement that we were waiting for. On Tuesday, November 16, 2010 Apple announced that The Beatles are now on iTunes. You can download your favorite songs from all 13 of The Beatles’ original studio albums or download the complete box set HERE.
Unfortunately, iOS 4.2 has not yet been released and most likely won’t until around the 24th of November. Of course, this does come as a disappointment to many of us but to those who love The Beatles and downloading music via iTunes, I suppose it’s a joyous day for them. Stay tuned to TechGeec.com for all of your most needed updates.
The visual experience of the record album returns with iTunes LP. Download select albums and experience a beautifully designed, interactive world right in your iTunes library on a Mac or PC — many are created by the artists. While you listen to your favorite songs, you can dive into animated lyrics and liner notes, watch performance videos, view artist and band photos, and enjoy other bonus materials. And become an even bigger fan.
A better way to share.
iTunes makes it easier to share music, movies, TV shows, and more. With Home Sharing, you can browse the iTunes libraries of up to five authorized computers in your house, import what you like, and automatically add new purchases made on any of the computers to your own library.
The Redesigned iTunes Store
Check out the new venue.
The world’s #1 music store is even better. With a beautiful redesign and refined navigation, the new iTunes Store makes it easy to explore songs, movies, TV shows, and more.
Now featuring: Special features.
When you buy select movies from the iTunes Store, you won’t get just a movie. You’ll get iTunes Extras — a world of special features you can experience right in your iTunes library. Watch interviews and trailers, view photos, and more on your Mac or PC.
Perfect mixes come automatically.
Meet Genius Mixes. This new feature searches your iTunes library, finds songs that go great together, and creates multiple mixes you’ll love. All automatically. These mixes are like channels programmed entirely with your music. You may discover songs you never knew you had — and rediscover forgotten favorites.
A simpler way to sync.
iTunes brings new, more flexible ways to sync your media from your computer to your iPhone or iPod. And it’s easier to organize all the apps on your iPhone or iPod touch, because now you can do it right in iTunes, right from your computer. Shop the App Store on your computer, iPhone, or iPod touch. Then go to your iTunes library to arrange (and rearrange) your apps and add (or delete) Home screens. iTunes automatically syncs your new Home screens with your iPhone or iPod touch.
Many Other Improvements
Refinements that rock.
iTunes brings you even better ways to manage and share everything in your library. You can make your Smart Playlists even smarter. You can save iTunes Store items you want to purchase later in a new wish list. You can buy ringtones of your favorite songs directly from the iTunes Store on your iPhone and assign a specific song to a contact. And if you’re an avid social networker, it’s easy to tout your favorite music, movies, and TV shows on Facebook and Twitter right from the iTunes Store.
